Civilitude story
Civilitude was founded in 2010 when Fayez left a secure job out of a dissatisfaction with the way civil engineering was practiced in Austin. Nhat soon joined Fayez because they thought the human side of engineering was being neglected; that more personal and responsive customer service could be combined with creativity and tenacious advocacy to form true partnerships with clients where both parties were invested in the success of projects. The result has been sustained growth, a stellar track record, and a loyal customer base.
2020 is landmark year for Civilitude. It marks 10 years of being in business. 10 years of providing broader perspectives, fresh insights and forward thinking. 10 years of delivering landmark civil engineering projects. 10 years of shaping the city of Austin. And we look forward to the next 10.
The civilitude way
Our Genesis
Civilitude began with the core ability to deliver technical capabilities in a time-bound manner – probably the most critical element in land development projects. This desire shaped our early days and remains the north star of our business. Our pursuit of getting things done right, reason for tenacity and drive for sustainable growth has been relentless. We started off with K-12 schools and affordable housing projects – and now have a healthy mix of public and private businesses.

As Civilitude grows, we are focussed on expanding beyond just singular projects, services and individual team members to strategies, processes and holistic growth. We think, plan, strategize, execute, benchmark, improve and repeat. Pushing ourselves to perform better each time. The Civilitude team members are deeply invested in the greater Austin community. Our company was born here, and is part of its fabric. Civilitude principals have served on numerous city commissions and non-profit boards, and volunteer and teach. As community members, we advocate for policies and programs that will ensure that Austin’s growth is sustainable and equitable. As frequent builders of affordable housing, we are mindful of those who have been left behind in Austin’s prosperity, and strive to build homes and places that will be assets to our community for decades to come. We are determined to do our part to leave Austin better than we found it.
