The 2021 City of Austin Field Engineering Rotation List is a vital initiative aligned with the city’s ambitious Strategic Mobility Plan. This plan envisions Austin as a mobile, interconnected hub with a transportation network that prioritizes accessibility, reliability, and diversity of choices to meet the community’s multifaceted needs. Supported by extensive focus group research, it’s clear that residents advocate for increased investment in public transportation, bicycle, and pedestrian projects over traditional roadway developments. With significant funding allocated through Proposition B of the 2020 Mobility Bond and previous bond approvals in 2016 and 2018, totaling $1.34 billion, this project holds the promise of transforming Austin’s transportation landscape. By leveraging these bond funds, the rotation list will serve as a catalyst for implementing crucial transportation projects citywide, ensuring progress towards a more sustainable and connected future.
