Google is continuing to invest in Austin. This time by committing to occupy a new 35-story office building in Downtown Austin. Civilitude is proud to be a part of this new project.
A new sail-shaped building is now under construction on block 185 in Downtown Austin. This curvy shaped building (which happens to look like stairs on the other side) is going to change Austin downtown’s skyline and be a new home for Google.
Civilitude Vice-President, Jim Schissler is the civil engineer working on this project. “The Austin skyline continues to be transformed,” Schissler said. “Civilitude is proud to play a role in that transformation with the Block 185 project and we look forward to be involved in future projects like this one.”
The tower will have almost 800,000 square feet of office space and about 5000 people will office out of there when it is completed. The building has been called “a rare starchitect-designed tower” for its unique design.
