Civilitude Earns Best Place for Working Parents Designation
In a 2020 study conducted by Catalyst.org, researchers found that in the United States, 46% of households have both parents employed and working full time. As a working parent, you go above and beyond to support your family, perform well on the job, and hope to do so in a work environment that accommodates you being both a full-time parent and employee.
Earlier this year, Civilitude earned the designation of Best Place for Working Parents! We are extremely proud of earning this recognition as we strive to incorporate family-friendly policies and practices in our workspace. More than half of Civilitude employees are working parents who excel in their work responsibilities and in their parenting duties.
Project Engineer II, Austin Vaughn, shared his thoughts on being a father and employee who has been given flexibility to work from home and be with this family. Vaughn said, “We were fortunate enough at Civilitude to transition to working from home during the pandemic successfully. When we welcomed our baby bean Scarlett into this world in September, I was able to work and still be present to offer support to my partner, her daughter and our baby. I think even post-pandemic, Civilitude and its family-forward work culture will allow me the flexibility to continue working from home and not miss a moment with my family, especially our little bean.”
Our designer manager, Dane Edwards also wished to give an update on being a working parent at Civilitude.
“I feel so fortunate to be able to work from home alongside my 6-month-old daughter. Civilitude understands the unpredictable nature of being a parent and has created an environment where parenting is supported, talked about, and prioritized. Having flexibility throughout the day allows me to be more involved in caring for our baby. Her desk is a mess, but I am so thankful to be able to work beside her!”
