Civilitude Pushes to Expand Austin’s Affordable Housing
In 2017, the City of Austin released their Strategic Housing Blueprint that called for the “construction of 60,000 housing units affordable to households at 80% median family income (MFI) and below, and another 75,000 units for households earning greater than 80% MFI.” As we are now four years past the release of the blueprint, Austin currently falls behind meeting their goal; additionally, this year the City planned to house 3,000 people in the next three years to come. As these requests and plans come in for Austin to have more affordable housing available for the community, Civilitude Group is on track to contribute to them as much as possible. In the last few years, Civilitude Group has been a part of creating several affordable housing units. Civilitude and Capital A Housing have steadily worked alongside the City, organizations and others to provide the housing individuals need that match they’re affordability. Under the City’s Affordability Unlocked plan, Capital A Housing is nearing completion for “The A at Lamppost” affordable housing development. Our project is just one of many that Civilitude Group and Capital A Housing have in store.
