Project Highlight: Zilker Studios
Situated in the rapidly developing South Lamar neighborhood, Zilker Studios (one of our newer Affordable Housing projects with Foundation Communities) will be a 7-story, 110 unit building, complete with amenities and support services for low-income and homeless individuals. Together with Forge Craft Architecture and Asakura Robinson, the design was laid out to include parking and a lobby with secured entry on the first floor, common areas on the second, and housing units on floors 3 through 7. The 2nd level amenities include a tv room, fitness room, game room, gathering area, laundry, a covered patio, property management and service coordinator offices, and maintenance rooms. Along with all of this, the upper level residential floors will each have 3 common area balconies for residents to enjoy!
So we’re pretty pleased with our role in this project, we admit. It’s hard not to be when all 110 units and amenities fit on just HALF of an acre. Compared to one of our other AH projects, A at Lamppost (which fits 17 units on one acre) you can see how much of a challenge this was! The thing is, we weren’t going to sacrifice the additional benefits such as the fitness room and community balcony spaces just to get this project done. We got it #doneright, as we say here at Civilitude. And we can guarantee that we put in that amount of effort for all of our clients–whether they are seeking affordable housing design, permitting services, or a commercial site development plan. Sacrifice? Not a word in our vocabulary!
